The NHS has been accused of a breast cancer scandal \u201ccover up\u201d following revelations that almost half a million women aged between 68 and 71 in the UK did not receive their invitation for breast cancer screening as a result of a computer glitch.<\/p>\n

75-year-old old Patricia Minchin did not receive her invitation for breast cancer screening, reportedly because of the error, and the cancer has since spread.<\/p>\n

Ms Minchin has accused the NHS of a \u201ccover up\u201d in a scandal that has reportedly seen as many as 270 women die, possibly as a direct result of not receiving their invitations because of the glitch.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The women who never received their breast cancer screening invitations have potentially missed out on lifesaving intervention as a result of the glitch that is understood to have occurred in 2009, but was only discovered earlier this year. Had the women who are affected by the NHS breast cancer screening scandal received their invitation, deaths and suffering may have been avoided.<\/p>\n

A full investigation is said to be underway, but for any patient where the cancer has spread, or has claimed their life, it\u2019s too little too late.<\/p>\n

Women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and were never invited for screening as a result of the glitch may be entitled to compensation<\/strong><\/a>, and families of patients who have passed away because they never received their invitation may also be entitled to claim.<\/p>\n
