A west Yorkshire mum was mistakenly given medication to treat schizophrenia instead of medication to treat restless leg syndrome that she had sought medical advice for.<\/p>\n

M Manning Pharmacy in Leeds<\/strong> gave the 60-year-old Mum the anti-psychotic drug risperidone which she unknowingly took for more than a month before the error was spotted. Upon contacting the pharmacy she was advised to refrain from taking any further doses of the medication and instructed to seek medical attention.

\nThe victim has described suffering serious effects from the use of the medication, both during the period of taking the medication, and afterwards. She has said that she felt she was going “insane”<\/strong> as she slept through the day and remained awake at night, and experienced shakes, anxiety, and muscular pain thereafter.<\/p>\n
